Heather Hope Monroe is a writer, creative strategist, and cultural steward dedicated to reviving the historic tradition of women’s intellectual community in Grand Rapids. As Creative and Executive Director of the Ladies’ Literary Club, she leads the organization’s modern renaissance, shaping its literary programming, curating its membership culture, and establishing its presence as a contemporary home for reading, scholarship, and thoughtful conversation.

With a background spanning global design, sourcing, and creative development, Heather brings a rare blend of artistic vision and executive clarity to the Club’s growth. She has spent her career building systems, brands, and narratives that elevate human connection and cultivate meaningful work. The Ladies’ Literary Club represents a return to her deepest values: the belief that literature refines us, dialogue strengthens us, and women’s communities change the world.

Heather oversees the Club’s strategic direction, partnerships, non-fiction reading program, and special events, while also safeguarding its ethos, scholarly, creative, inclusive, and forward-looking. Her leadership blends tradition with reinvention, honoring the Club’s nineteenth-century origins while guiding its evolution into a vibrant, modern intellectual society.

Above all, she is committed to fostering a space where curiosity thrives, ideas take root, and women gather to think, write, and create together.
